Blue Lite FAQ

Frequently asked questions on the Blue Lite device.

Why does my Charts View show breaks in the data? The Cloud only holds onto data for 4 hours. If it doesn’t see another data reading in that time frame, it will lose it. Currently, no historical data for Blue Lite systems is available.

How do I read my cables with the Blue Lite device? If  your system has both moisture and temperature cables, then there will be 2 read-out points per bin. Temperature cables are read on the 3-wire system, and will be plugged into the port of your device that houses 3 prongs. The moisture cables will be read on the 2-wire system, and will be plugged into the port with 2 prongs. When discovering cables, you will want to discover the 2-wire cables first (moisture) and then connect the 3-wire cables (temperature) and discover those. It is recommended the order this is done is the same on each read: 2-wire first, then 3-wire, otherwise the Cloud will place the cables in a different pattern will show more cables than it should.

Where does the data go when I use the Troubleshoot option? The data is strictly for troubleshooting purposes and will not be sent to the Cloud. If you are under the Troubleshooting mode and reading cables, do not expect this data to carry to the Cloud.

Do I need to be connected to WIFI for my data to be sent from the Blue Lite device to the Cloud? No. It should store the data in the queue until you are connected to WIFI or are in a serviced area where the data can transfer to the Cloud.

How exactly can multiple users view the data? The system is set up  to use multiple Blue Lite devices, not accounts. Multiple user logins cannot be used, but multiple apps can be used with a single login. Using multiple logins (ex: creating more than one account for the same site) creates conflict with the cables. The same cable cannot be located across 2 different accounts as each cable has their own unique ROM Id. Each user can use their own app, however they need to make sure they are added as a member to the organization they are trying to read the cables on, and be certain they have selected the correct organization, site, and bin, before attempting to gather a reading from the cables.

Are there any connection issues I should know about when it comes to Blue Tooth? Yes. If you and another member are both within Blue Tooth distance of each other and the Blue Lite device, make sure only one app is open at time of cable discovery. We have noticed that at times with a connection to a device like an iPad, it can remain connected until you tap into the settings and remove the Blue Tooth device.
