There are a few configurations that need to be done on a StorMax Monitor so that it can read the Moisture Content from a Moisture Cable.
The StorMax Monitor is capable of reading the moisture content from a commodity in the grain bin, however it has to be configured properly before it is able to do so. The monitor needs to have the right Firmware Version, the moisture cable needs to be "programmed" into the monitor, and the correct "Grain Type" needs to be assigned to the moisture cable in the monitor.
Firmware Version
Every hardware version of the StorMax monitor is capable of reading the Moisture Cables, however it needs to have firmware version 2.16 or newer installed on it in order to read Moisture Cables. Please refer to the following knowledgebase article for how to update the firmware on the monitor:

Programming a Moisture Cable
The moisture cable needs to be "programmed" into the StorMax monitor before the monitor can interpret the data it is reading on the cable, and also before it can log the data for future reference. Grain Type
Before a StorMax monitor can interpret the temperature and relative humidity values that it is reading from a moisture cable and tell you the Moisture Content of the commodity in your bin, a Grain Type (Grain Curve) needs to be assigned to the Moisture Cable that you have programmed into your StorMax Monitor. The Grain Curve is a mathematical model of how the selected grain type behaves under different temperature and relative humidity conditions, and the StorMax Monitor uses the measured temperature and relative humidity values as variables in the Grain Curve mathematical model to calculate the moisture content of the grain.
