When reading cables with a handheld device and the monitor screen keeps going on a loop saying "please wait.." and cycling back to the home page, it's either a monitor issue or a cable issue. Here are the possible causes and troubleshooting steps you need to follow.
1. Your monitor's battery could be too low.
Please recharge the battery for at least 4 hours, or replace the batteries if non-chargeable and try again. If the same issue happens then it's most likely a cable/cable connection issue.
2. Bad cable/ short in the cable.
- If you are reading a single cable, try reading the cable at the very top of the bin by disconnecting the interconnect wire from the short pigtail coming directly from the cable. If you can get a sensible reading from there, then you have a short in the interconnect wire and you will need to replace it. If you get the same problem then the cable itself is bad and needs to be replaced.
- If you are reading a group of cables, you need to disconnect all the cables from the terminal box and connect one cable at a time, if you notice the problem happening with a particular cable(s) then leave it disconnected and perform the troubleshooting steps above for a single cable.
