Why did OPI come out with a new Grain Quality (CO2) Sensor?
Reasons why OPI came out with the C02 sensor
We are always looking to mitigate potential risks to stored grain by monitoring key factors that
can indicate spoilage. By adding CO2 monitoring, we give our customers another tool to detect
potential problems with their grain, giving them time to take corrective action.
When strategically placed in the plenum and the headspace, the sensors can provide early
detection of elevated CO2 levels emitted from microbial or insect activity within the grain mass
or by natural respiratory processes. This early detection and notification through the system can avoid costly losses and allow you to make smart management decisions (aerating or moving grain) before it becomes too late.
