Why should I acknowledge or dismiss my alarms in the OPI Blue system?

It is important to acknowledge new alarms or dismiss resolved alarms to avoid missing future alarms that may happen on your OPI Blue system.

When hotspots develop in your grain bins, your OPI Blue system is designed to send text and email alerts informing you that there may be a problem with your commodity.

For example:

However, if there are past high temperature and rate of rise events that have since been resolved but the alerts were not acknowledged or dismissed, then new alerts cannot be generated. When this happens, the OPI Blue system is incapable of sending a new text or email alert if a high temperature or rate of rise event happens.

The above text represents a rate of rise alarm generated February 8th and a high temperature alarm generated October 23rd. Since then the rate of rise and high temperature events were resolved but the alerts were not dismissed. As a result, email/text alerts were never generated from the rate of rises and high temperature events from the hotspot pictured above. This lead to a delay in taking action to mitigate damage cause by the hot-spot on the grain in the bin.

When you receive text or email alerts, take a minute to acknowledge that you received them and the next time you log into your account, dismiss any old and resolved alarms. This maintenance will go a long way to prevent a situation where you potentially could miss a hot spot developing until it is too late.
