What events trigger email alerts in OPI Blue?

Below is a summary of different email alert events and what triggers them.

High Temperature Alarm: An email or SMS alert is triggered by a high temperature alarm from your OPI Blue system, This means that one or more temperature sensors within the grain mass of one of your bins on your system is reporting a grain temperature higher than the set High Temperature Alarm setpoint in that Bin's settings. Any High Temperature alert should be taken seriously and investigated to ensure the necessary steps are taken to mitigate any potential hot spots in the grain or grain loss due to heating.

Temperature Rate of Rise Alarm: An email or SMS alert is triggered by a Temperature Rate of Rise alarm from your OPI Blue system. This means that one or more temperature sensors within in the grain mass of your bins on your system is reporting a grain temperature that has exceeded the maximum allowable temperature increase over a day or week’s timeframe which ever has been set by the user. . Any Temperature Rate of Rise alert should be taken seriously with the necessary action taken as these conditions can be an early indication that your grain is beginning to heat which could lead to hot spots and a potential loss of grain through spoilage.

Offline Gateway Alert: When you receive an email with an Offline Gateway alert from your OPI Blue system, this means that your gateway is not longer communicating with the cloud server. In other words, your Gateway Node is offline. You should take this opportunity to troubleshoot why your gateway is offline. Please read this article for more information on troubleshooting offline gateways.

Gateway Power Loss Alert: When you receive an email with an Gateway power loss alert from your OPI Blue system, this means that your gateway is no longer receiving 110V AC line power from the wall plug it is connected to. You should take this opportunity to evaluate the power at the site to make sure adequate power is being delivered to the gateway node. Please be advised that the Gateway Node does have a backup battery which will keep the Gateway online for a few hours before it goes completely offline.

Cable Node Battery is Low Alert: When you receive an email with a cable node low battery alert, this means that a cable node on your system is reporting a low battery (typically 2.7V-2.9V of a fully charged 3.7V battery). You should take this opportunity to evaluate the node for reasons why it may be reporting a low battery such as: it is not getting enough sunlight due to being installed improperly in a shaded area, it is installed too far away from the Gateway Node and the radio is working too hard and draining power, or it's battery is old and failing (<5 Years old). Please read this article for information on field recharging and resetting a cable node.

Gateway Error Alert (Fan Control Issue): When you receive an email alert with a Gateway Error, this means that one of your fans on your fan control system has stopped due to one of the following: no plenum pressure feedback in 5 consecutive retries, no fan control digital output feedback in 5 consecutive retries, or no weather station data in a timely manner in 5 consecutive retries. You should take this opportunity to isolate what specific event and/or hardware piece is not providing data and causing this alarm, and then troubleshoot that hardware to resolve this issue.
